Wolfgang – The Black Christmas Project Photos

Posted: December 11th, 2008 | Author: Ben | Filed under: Music, Photography | Tags: , , , , , , , , | 15 Comments »

December 10, 2008 | 7pm | Eastwood City – Wolfgang (Basti Artadi, Manuel Legarda, Mon Legaspi, and Francis Aquino) opened their set with Sanctified. They played about 10 songs. The ones I know are:

  • Darkness Fell
  • Mata ng Dios
  • Natutulog Kong Mundo

Since their promoting their new album, Villains, they played new songs which I believe are:

  • Ibrahim
  • John of the Cross
  • Novus Is Burning

Finally, they ended it with Arise and Halik ni Hudas.

Although my Canon EOS 400D + Zoom Lens EF 55-200mm was used, it was Miggy of OdysseyLive.net who took these photos.

All the post production / photo enhancements, however, were done by me. Hope you guys like what I did.

Portraits by Manny Librodo

Posted: June 28th, 2008 | Author: Ben | Filed under: Photography | Tags: , , | No Comments »

Manny Librodo is one of the best, if not, the best, portrait photographers.  I can’t even begin how to describe how great his photos are.  Crisp. Full of color. Full of life. Very sharp, full details of the face.  He’s also known for “The Manny Librodo Sharpening Technique” in Photoshop.  It’s all over the photography forums.

Anyway, here is a couple of portraits I love…

Western Digital Hard Disk Sale @ Abacus (V-Mall)

Posted: June 7th, 2008 | Author: Ben | Filed under: Photography, Tech | Tags: , , , , | 4 Comments »

After having my hair cut, I went to Greenhills. I had been waiting for a 250 GB Western Digital (WD) SATA 2.5″ hard drive for my Apple MacBook. I went to visit my old supplier, Brilliant Computers, hoping that my WD hard disk would be on stock.

Soon as I got to the 3rd Floor of V-Mall, I saw John K. Chua of AdPhoto. For those of you who don’t know him, Mr. Chua is one of the leading and respected advertising photographers in the Philippines. I believe he took the photos of most of local automobile ads. I have personally met him, his wife: Harvey, and his daughter: Sacha Chua, when they went to Naga and gave a whole-day photography workshop for FREE!!! (Sacha and I went to Ateneo together but I was a batch ahead of her. She was also one of the systems administrators at CERVINI, my college dorm.)

Anyway, I called his name: “John!” I introduced myself as someone from Naga. And it really seemed he remembered me. (Feeling!) Then, he asked me if I knew where ABACUS Compters was. He mentioned that there was a Western Digital promo for DPP (Digital Photographer Philippines) users. So I walked around the 3rd floor and help him find Abacus.

Finally, we found Abacus Computers right in the middle of the computer section of V-Mall. And the store attendants told us about the Western Digital promo for DPP. Here are the prices…

WD 250GB SATA 2.5″ for laptop (internal drive): Php 4,200.00
WD 320GB SATA 2.5″ for laptop (internal drive): Php 6,000.00++ (order basis)
WD 250GB SATA 2.5″ external drive with casing: Php 4,900.00
WD 320GB SATA 2.5″ external drive with casing: Php 6,800.00

(They are also selling Transcend 16GB flash drives for Php 3,100,00.)

John bid me goodbye and I went down to get some cash. I saved Php 1,800.00 at Abacus. Brilliant Computers priced the 250GB WD at Php 6,000.00 and not to mention they are always out of stock (until today).

Anyway, the Western Digital promo is ongoing until supply lasts. Hurry!
