Medical Exam at Pro Lab

As a new employee at One Hundred Services, Inc., I am required to submit a standard pre-employment medical examination.  The standard medical exam includes:

  1. Urinalysis
  2. Stool Exam
  3. Physical Examination (PE)
  4. Chest x-ray
  5. Complete Blood Count (CBC)

Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule, I couldn't find time for it.

Finally, I was free Tuesday afternoon and decided to go to Clinilab.  It was My office friend, Eloi, who recommended Clinilab.   I went there but the clinic / lab has already moved to another location.  No one knows the new address.  Clinilab used to be across the Burger Machine stand here in Pasong Tamo Extension.

I walked back to the office hoping to bump into another clinic / lab that does pre-employment medical exams.  Unfortunately, there was none.  At that time, I decided to look for medical clinics / labs in E-YellowPages (www.eyp.ph).

EYPFor those of you who don't know, there is an online version of the printed Yellow Pages.  It's called EYP or E-YellowPages.  Instead of you looking for the business establishments by literally scanning thru a thick pile of "yellow pages", all you need to do is log on to www.eyp.ph and search!  It's more convenient and simple to use. Try it next time you're looking for something.

Anyway, I narrowed down the EYP search results to labs that were both very accessible from the office and cheap.  The final list had

  • Healthway: P300-500 for walk-in
  • Pro Lab: P300 for walk-in

I chose Pro Lab because it's nearer and they're the cheapest.

This morning I went to Prolab for my medical exam. It's right at the back of Renaisance Hotel, along Arnaiz Ave. (formerly Pasay Road).  And I received good service. Will recommend it to my new officemates who'll be needing pre-employment medial examinations.

  • The service was fast. Really fast in fact.  The whole examination took less than an hour.
  • The people were very professional. They courteous and attended to my needs with urgency.
  • The people gave clear instructions. I never had to ask "What do I do next?"

Marlboro Behind Eraserheads Reunion Concert

It's still unclear who the organizers and the "sole" sponsor of bringing back the Eraserheads back on stage.  Rumor has it that the company who's sponsoring this much-awaited event in the Philippine music industry caters to the adult market - 18 and above.

That narrows down the list of possible sponsors to 3...

  1. liquor/alcohol brands
  2. cigarette brands
  3. condom brands

If it were an alcohol / liquor brand, it would definitely be San Miguel. However, we don't see any tri-media advertisements relating to this event.  Moreover, there's no alcohol-related big event culminating this August. Thus, we can say that San Miguel is not the sponsor.

It's also unlikely that condom brands like Frenzy or Trust would pull this off.  Not to offend them, but I believe they have the least financial resources to pull this off compared to the other two.

Finally, if it's gonna be a cigarette company, it will be Marlboro!  They definitely have the financial resources to pull off this kind of event. Just ask yourselves. How many of your friends smoke everyday? How many times a day? Compare that to how many bottles of beers your friends consume in a month? Compare that to the number of condoms your friends use? (Probably they don't use condoms at all. Hehe.)

Moreover, Marlboro being a sponsor justifies why there's no tri-media advertising for this event considering it's the Eraserheads we're talking about here.  Cigarette companies are now banned to advertise.  Hence, all the promotions are viral. Now if you go to the their website, you'll notice the RED LIST...

Since, cigarette companies can no longer advertise thru tri-media (TV, Radio, Print), they have to resort to more discreet ways of promoting their products. One classic way is thru mailing lists or e-newsletters.   Very effective because email lists are captured markets. Moreover, people who signed up to these lists are open to receive marketing / promotional information of the companies.  Old-school, but it works!

Niweis, I have just signed up for the Red List despite the fact that there's no guarantee I'll receive invitations to the Eraserheads concert nor a guarantee that Marlboro really is the sponsor.  They require your to scan your ID (front and back) and upload it upon submission of the registration form.

I pray that ALL Eraserheads fans get invites to this event. And for people who help spread the rumors like me. Hehe.

I really really bow down to the organizer and the sponsor for bringing the 4 back on stage.

At this point, 3 questions remain...

  1. Who is the organizer?
  2. Who is the (sole) sponsor?
  3. How do we get TICKETS!!!!????!!!!
